"Sounds of Resistance: Echoes of Change", The Crop Over Evening of Folk, Co-Writer

"Sounds of Resistance: Echoes of Change", co-written by Empress Zingha and her colleague Matthew "Kupakwashe" Murrell, is a modern take on the 1937 riots in Barbados challenging the idea of resistance in a way that younger generations can understand.

This was a very heavily researched play, due to the need for historical accuracy and representation.

"Sounds of Resistance: Echoes of Change" was mounted three times, showcasing at CARIFESTA XII in Haiti, and twice in Barbados, one of which was done at the Foundation Secondary School, directed by Angelo Lacelles.
